Throttle Sticks Open

I have had this happen a few times on a few different trucks and I would like to have a cure all if you will for fixing this. The Motor is a 5.0L 302 EFI with a throttle body and the throttle wants to stick open at around 1500-2000rpm and is usually cured by tapping the gas pedal a few times, the throttle body actually sticks but I am sure that the throttle cable is sticking a little too. Any ideas?

There might be carbon built up on the butterflys or like you said the cable may need to be lubbed up. You may have to take the throttle body off to get it good and clean. You can use a old toothbrush to clean around the butterflies of the throttlebody. Hope this helps.

I did that already and it still sticks open, I am thinking that it will need to be lubed up somehow. i think it is where the plates touch that it sticks.
