262 Distributor
Newbie with a dumb question!
I am in need of a distributor for a 262 I6
Is there some place that has old FOrd parts, I have tried vendor sites but not having any luck
Is there a part number that I could look up?
I landed on this site for some help from the Ford folks

What year is the truck, what is the 4th digit of the VIN?

We do NOT have the truck just started with the short block!
We are replacing the engine in a 53 1/2 ton pick up that had a 223 with this 2sixty2 which has a gear drive cam which rotates the dist the opposite direction.
Options are find a dist or a gear or have a cam reground with a different cam gear
A right distributor would be the best option................ still looking
NOS parts has a gear but there is a 0.004 difference in the ID of the gear (smaller) and I am sure the dist shaft will be VERY hard to turn down.
This may be our only option!
