Until you find out what's going on with the tranny shifting Stop trying to force a high rpm down shift, as if it's slipping, it'll overheat the tranny fluid & clutch packs & damage both.
If you now have the ELM scan tool & are running FORScan diagnostic software on your viewing device, have it perform a scan for trouble code clues & post up All code Numbers it finds.
If there are tranny codes stored, FORScan can find & read them, so could help focus your trouble shoot.
Was the vacuum line repair work successful in fixing the default to defrost vent woe?
If no CEL light coming on for it's self check at KOEO, the lamp may be burned out, or maybe some one has removed it.

the high RPM shifting is under normal driving, ill drive it like a granny on sunday for the time being. i wasnt able to pull tranny codes, i think because of a harness might be disconnected. the vacuum line repair helped the defrost as well as the shifting a bit. ill do the cold engine idle and shift relearn after work.
Since you found & repaired some vacuum lines, that if they were leaking would likely corrupt fuel trim & the KAM stored fuel trim tables, I'd consider disconnecting the battery B- cable to wipe the KAM & that'll also wipe the old cold & warm idle strategy. All to wipe the slate clean for the idle relearn.
Since the battery disconnect will wipe all stored trouble codes, perform a ELM/FORScan scan for trouble codes & write down All trouble codes Before the battery B- cable disconnect.
Check the tranny fluid level as described in the Owner Manual & check it's condition.
Make sure the tranny range selector switch is properly fastened, indexed & all connecting controls & wiring electrical connectors pins/sockets are clean & undamaged & the connector is securely attached.
If all that seems ok, check line pressure if FORScan doesn't find any tranny code clues.
If line pressure seems ok, do some normal driving to see if any positive driving/shifting results & then scan again to see if the same, or any new codes are stored & post up All numbers found.

the codes I pulled are P0122 P1000 P1705, I did the cold engine relearn cycle, it helped but still not ideal I have a feeling I missed a harness connect,
The P1705 says the computer isn't happy with the TRS hook up & the shift lever range selection, so did you check yet to see if you got that reconnected/indexed correctly & securely to the side of the tranny?

So the P0122 was due the sensor being disconnected, that's been re attached, I crawled under and located the TRS, just visually it looked ok, so I'll drive it tomorrow and and see what happens
Ok, good find on the TPS connector disconnect.
The P1705 suggests the computer isn't happy with the gear shift selector range, so maybe something got out of adjustment, or went awry when reconnecting the linkage.
Let us know how it goes.

drove it today, the shifting was very smooth and worked as well as it did before i did my work. ill try and clear the codes, and see if any come back. ill also do some more reading on the gear shift selector.
