Have installed aftermarket stereos in various cars for 45 years more or less, professionally in the '70s and on my or my friends' cars ever since. Have put in mono and stereo radios, 8 tracks, cassettes, CDs, CBs... you name it. And whether cheapie or expensive, they have all WORKED right out of the box. Did all the cutting and such to hang the CD player in my dash Saturday...and the unit is dead as a freakin' doornail. Checked power, checked the ground, checked the fuse, to include connectivity, even tried using the remote as well as the buttons - nuthin'. I don't need help, I'm just venting.
Maybe I should post this under 'what have you done to your truck today' - "Well, I pulled the dash apart and cut the crap out of for no good reason"
yep, this ain't my first rodeo, very familiar with how switched and continuous power is used and hooked up. I called their tech support and even the tech guy admitted their wiring diagram is dodgy and mislabeled... hopefully I can get it sorted and all will be well. Thanks for the input.
and we are up and running.....rewired per the tech's input and all seems well. SO MUCH BETTER than that cheap Pyle POS that was in there... it claimed 160W output but I think they should probably mention that 150W of that was pure distortion. Due to drinking obligations I will not get the final install done for a coupla days but the initial test was very favorable.
