I mentioned this in another thread but I thought I would share with everybody on its own thread. I ordered an F250 gas XLT super cab for reference. It came with the Continental Contitrac LT275/65r18. I was searching for this information previously and I thought in case somebody else wants to know this information this will be a quick way for them to find out via the search.
My local tire guy is going to make me an offer on the Continentals towards a set of Cooper Discoverer AT/3's. I'll update on Monday and let you know what he offered. He had previously offered me $400 when I thought I was getting Michelin's. When I talk to him today and told him I was getting the continentals he did not seem impressed with them. In fact he said he's never been a fan of continentals. So we'll see how it goes.
I had a set on my 2014 when I bought it. They were so so on the pavement, but the first time a drove across a field of wet grass they started spinning. They also wore funny and I took them off with 4,000 miles on them. When I put Michelins on the truck, I had the tire shop do an alignment because of the odd wear on the Conti's. He said my alignment was spot on. I wouldn't own another set of continentals. Just my .02
