So as most of you with these trucks know, the hitch is a mile off the ground. I need something to get me about 17 1/2" off the ground to pull my boat level.
My wife bought me this for fathers day:
I'm not very familiar with this brand, and am not finding very many reviews online. I've seen alot of threads about some of the really expensive hitches, but don't want to take this back and hurt her feelings.
I have one of those and used it exclusively until I got a Weigh Safe. The only problem I had with it was that the adjustable base wouldn't slide very well on the vertical shaft. I took a rat-tail file to it and gave it more clearance. That worked fine. I can't remember the hitch ratings but it is a single pin design so it can't tow really heavy trailers.
Its rated at 10k, and 1500 tongue weight. Which exceeds what I will tow. Did you notice much "slop" in it while towing? It seems like the base is a little sloppy when paired to the vertical part.

It actually was pretty tight; too tight. Hence the reason for rasping out a little bit of aluminum so it would slide on the shaft better. Regardless, it worked fine and continues to do so. I use it as a loaner.
