Adjustable Hitch Receivers...

I pull three different trailers various weights but more importantly various receiver heights.

To save me the effort of constantly switching receivers, I was considering an adjustable. I was eye balling a B&W Tow and Stow set-up. They say it handles Heavy-Duty Loads up to 10,000 lb., with 1,000 lb. of Tongue Weight which should match the capacity of my receiver on the Excursion IF I truely have a Class IV receiver. (That question is on another thread as I type this).

So the question is, have any of you used the B&W Adjustable? Are you happy with it? Feels safe enough? Or did you go with another adjustable?

Thx!

Yes I have one. I bought the one with the 3 diffrent size *****. I love it. Have the same thing with towing various loads at diffrent heights and other peoples trailers. Its also nice the you dont hit your leg aginst the ball. Its built tough. I would feel safe pull my travel trailer with it from storage to home. it weighs close to 9k loaded.

Another vote for Anderson rapid hitch I have it on both my 350s and just ordered one for the x we just bought love the hitch. Just make sure you spend the extra money and buy the set of locking pins . Stupid that it doesn't come with them. Buy it without and you will be buying a new hitch cause it will get stolen

Either of you have any opinions on the plain old steel ball vs the greaseless aluminum ball? Only about $20 more but hey, money is money. Which do you have? Any thoughts on the other?

I discovered the hitch soon after it first became available years ago, and there was only one kind available, all aluminum.

I've been using a Diversi-Tech adjustable hitch and been very happy with it. I looked at many others and liked the features and the quality of the DT Series.

That's what I've got and I love the fact that it locks both the ball to the mount and the mount to the vehicle with the same key!

This looks almost identical to the Anderson Rapid Hitch. Any notable differences come to mind?

The biggest one is the way the DT locks. Both the ball part and the hitch part have built-in locks with the same key. No need for a separate hitch pin to lock the hitch. The anti-rattle part is nice too.

Damn. Those look like small lugs coming out of the receiver part to hold onto the hitch itself. I'm sure it's safe but I cringe just a little 'cause my wife says I'm from the land of "Overkill." LOL

I'd put a 4lb steel pin through there if I could - but I'm sure those small lugs is all one would need.

They are not small. They could be no bigger. They are a petfect fit for the hitch pin holes and they stick out far enough to be flush with the outside of the hitch.
