Hi All, My IC went out a week ago. Im waiting for a replacement from Circuit Board medics. I am still driving my truck around as the IC going on and off dosnt seem to be affecting the running of the truck. Untill yesterday when im 20 miles in the bush getting firewood and the truck sputtered and spit out a Code and engine light on. U0155. ok truck ran fine home.
My ?? is, can I hurt anything while driving it with a bad IC??? Thanks
The Uxxxx codes are for the computer system communications errors and what not.
Have you checked the plugs on the top of the cluster to make sure that they
are plugged in and or don't have any broken wires?
I can find the exact code later when I get home.
EDIT : Found it.
U0155 Lost Communication with Instrument Panel Control (IPC) Module
Ya, plugs are all ok. I know the IC is dead and waiting for new one to show up. Not sure what caused the U0155 code yesterday, as I have been driving around with the IC going in and out intermittently. I guess the PCM just got wind the cluster is shot...???
Im just wondering if I can cause any further damage driving
You do run the risk of the cluster dying all the way and loosing the throttle control.
If that happens you will drop to idle. If you are in a place when dropping to idle can
cause harm then you will have a problem.
I don't think you will hurt the truck unless like I said above you are in a place where
idle speed won't get you out of a jam.
Thanks for the advice. Hopefully my new IC will be here soon. The only place im going in the next few days is up in the bush. Try to stay within a few miles of a main road as there is limited cell service where I live.. OH and I would NOT want to get towed home from my wifes Suzuki. haha
