Engine year model
Hello,
I have an 04 Excursion with a 6.0 PSD, IPR remote oil cooler, blue spring upgrade, about 172K miles. I am beginning to experience longer than normal engine cranking times, sometimes as much as 5 seconds before start. It was suggested to be either dummy plugs and stand pipes or HPOP o-ring issue, depending on engine year model. Just by looking at the motor how do I determine which year model engine I have?

Looking for the emissions label on the passenger valve cover is probably your best bet.
Or check the location of the ICP sensor. On the Ex that's not a guarantee of which HPOP though, IIRC there was a weird hybrid with the late model rails and early HPOP? Or vice versa. Not sure if that was '04 or the hold over '05s though. ICP in valve cover means you have the standpipe/rail plug concern, but not 100% sure about the HPOP on the Ex's. If it's cold-long crank could just be an ICP sensor problem; if you can monitor ICP_V, then you watch to see if it starts as soon as the voltage kicks up, then you can narrow down to the sensor versus an o-ring leak.
