I have a 2007 f250 and got a check engine code icp circuit intermittent and to what I know icp sensor should be on the valve cover on the passenger side but it's not I bought the truck few months ago could it be that they swapped the engine for an early 6.0 or is there any other place for the icp sensor??? Thanks in advance!!!

Check out the sticker on the passenger side valve cover, that will tell you the year(if it's original). On an 07, the ICP sensor will be on the front of the passenger side valve cover.

It has an international sticker but doesn't appear a year on there

Early 04/03 under the Turbo the IPR is there too, on a good note you have the better EGR Cooler , also make sure you put the Heat wrap back on it gets a little toasty back there

Mine is under turbo on the back of the motor a buddy of mine and I did it from under side of the truck removed heat shield not a fun task and then used the crows foot socket and piped it out an put it all in also replaced the pigtail from up top. Putting the heat shield back in is about as dumb as taking it out. Not knowing a thing took us about 2 hours to track down parts and tools and then about another hour in fooling with it.

Just to offer the other side in pictures since the 04+ is posted. You can see it's buried back behind everything, you probably need to remove the degas bottle bolts and shove it aside to even see the heat wrap on the IPR.

One shot of the 04-07 ICP sensor from another angle:

Is your profile correct (that you have a 2006 model year)?

Yes it is. I know where the sensor is, but my socket won't fit on due to some plug that is in the way. So I was just curious as to if I had to remove that or if there is another way.

May want to remove the hot side CAC tube to make it easier
24MM socket or 15/16" (deep) socket - a swivel socket or a short swivel adapter may help to work around the CAC tube.

It is located by the Glow Plug Control Module (no sensor close by)

Thought he said in earlier post it wasn't there on the valve cover. That means it is a 03 or early o4 motor. Icp is under turbo with ipr.
