Windshield weatherstrip fitting
I am having problem to find a weatherstrip for my windshield.
First I got my windshield from "windshieldtogo.com", I live in South Florida, and after giving them a call, I was able to go get the windshield on the same day in Fort Lauderdale. Got the windshield (probably made in China, ref. is DW819).
Then I ordered from Dennis Carpenter a gasket that can accept the wide Chrome trim for my 74 F100 Ranger.
I tried to install it myself, what a pain in the butt. I know you are supposed to install the trim first, then put it on the windshield and then you can install it.
I tried but being alone was not very easy so I decided to head to a shop that install windshield. then the guy from the shop told me they could not install it because the weatherstrip had a little crack in one corner!!! Ok so I ordered another one from Dennis Carpenter, the second one didn't fit, the guy show me a gap between the weatherstrip and the windshield of maybe a 1/4 inch (the trim was not on the weatherstrip at that time).
So then the shop told me they can order one and they will let me know.
It have been now 5 days, so I gave them a call today and they told me that the one they got does not fit and I will have to find one myself!!
So now I am back to square one, I find it very interesting that all the gasket does not fit the windshield. I understand this is aftermarket part, but Dennis Carpenter part are made here in USA, you will think that they know what they are doing..
I am also thinking that the windshield itself could be the problem.
Does anyone had that kind of problem? I know there is also the cheap weatherstrip reproduction for $40, but not sure if it will be better.
And by the way ordering 2 gaskets from Dennis Carpenter, I had to pay the shipping for each gasket for delivery and to send it back!!

I am getting a bit lost..
Any help will be much appreciated, thanks
Today, it's getting hard to find auto glass shops to do this. Either they're unaware of this method, or don't want to bother because it's a PITA
D3TZ-1003110-E .. Windshield Weather Strip - Use with stainless steel windshield reveal mouldings / Reproduced
1973/76 F100/880; 1977 F100/880 before serial number O80,001.
The windshield is the same: 1967/72 F100/750; 1973/79 F100/880, 1978/79 Bronco, but...
The weatherstrip is specific to either 1967/72, or 1973/76 & 1977 before serial number O80,001.
1977 from serial number O80,001 & 1978/79 use a different weather strip because these trucks & 1978/79 Bronco's have a one piece flexible plastic chrome windshield reveal moulding.
I ordered the right one from D.C., but had problem with both of them, I will call that not being lucky!
It looks like the shop finally got one that works, and fit right with the Chrome. I was on the phone and he was telling me that he had one more trim to install, and he will call me back to bring the truck for installation. I also remind him that the chrome trim have to go first .
Now waiting for their call
