I was wondering if anyone on here has installed the windshield with the stainless trim. We had two tries at it today and having trouble keeping the trim properly seated, the second try was much better but it's going to need to come out and be tried again. Not sure if it's because the new rubber hasn't had a chance to stretch properly or what. The glass seems to be seated good just not the trim..
I researched it a bit before doing mine, and all the old school glass guys I spoke to ran for the hills when I mentioned it. I ended up deciding against it, mostly for that reason.
I'd kind of like to keep the trim because of the dark green, just to dress it up some, I do have the rubber for the standard glass. But there has to be a solution, it did go in better the second try, it's a lot easier setting the glass in than it is taking it out without breaking it..
Well it's back in and fits much better, the secret we found was to take your time and finesse the trim in place. My wife and I spent about an hour getting the rubber and trim in place to where it fit much better and only took about 20 minutes to rope it in place. We should have done it ourselves the first time and not hired a professional.
