I'm trading some plumbing work for a mechanic to redo my brakes. New calipers, rotors, pads, and replacing the rubber lines with stainless. I was looking at the Power Stop units from Summit and the Russel brake line kit. He uses NAPA Ultra Premiums on everything he does, he runs a shop for a large trucking/heavy equipment company specializing in earthmoving and livestock hauling. He said the Power Stops look good, but he has no experience with them. What set up would you use and why? Price is a factor, but not the only factor. With that being said, can I dive into the pool of knowledge once more? Thanks FTE.
I prefer Centric brand rotors and rebuilt calipers...
I too like Centric rotors and use them on the back axles for all of my rigs, but because my Ex only likes to wear cryo rotors up front, I'm sure I won't be tempted to try something different on the front axle anytime soon.
My Lightning is a different story. I'm about to order Centric rotors for all four corners.
I read a bunch of information on brakes and, although I know Stewart had a horrible experience with them, I am going with the NAPA premium equipment. The person installing them says he's used them for years. I can't remember who it was, but someone made a very good point and said that the brakes from the factory are designed by people who do a very good job of designing stuff, it's why Ford is successful. The original brakes are a design that is balanced between stopping power and longevity. Consensus is that the stopping power on the Power Stop kit is better, but it sounds like replacement of brakes is needed more often. The NAPA units sound to be a little better than stock, but still offer the longevity portion, except for Stewart's experience. I appreciate the input from everyone, they will be getting done on Saturday.

It's not just me. If you read the thread I linked to, another chimed in and said he can't stand the Napa rotors either. There have been quite a few negative experiences with the Napa's I've read over the years, but FWIW, most of guys like the Napa rotors too! That's why I tried them!
