I like it too! I bet the cab is really good. Doors and fenders are nice. I have often thought about buying trucks like that and hauling them to the Eastern rust belt for resale, but you'd need to do at least 3 at a time and get a good paying back-haul. Something that comes from the East Coast that we like out here. Lobsters? They might not handle the Dakotas this time of year.... Never mind, back down to the shop to build six exterior doors and a library ladder.
Hey that looks like a good deal, except the no title thing.
For most states it seems very hard to get a title. In CA a bill of sale, statement of facts, resisted letter to last known owner, you can get a title for the vehicle. This is a good deal. Turlock is in the San Joaquin valley in central CA, mostly orchard, cattle, vineyards, fruit grove and oil land. Many of these big trucks are still sitting in S.J. valley
Did the wheel base on that truck get shortened? I don't remember seeing any military trucks that short.
Looks to be former U.S.Navy and also looks to have been shortened after
de-commision. I would love to find a Tonner for this kind of money a little
(a lot) closer to me. I know it might be blasphemy but, I'd love to put a Tonner cab and bed on my 84's 4wd frame.
The tonner front sheet metal and cabs are the same as the larger trucks. You could get that truck and then need to find the tonner bed, rear fenders, and running boards. I think you'll find the wheel widths of the 84 would look terrible hanging out from the 4s sheet metal though.

I agree. I do not like wheels that extend beyond fenders. It just looks silly.
