AArrrgghhhh, I really hate life in a rust belt that cab looks like it's in better shape than one I bought to put on one of my trucks. The floors and front cab mounts look solid, please tell me that they are rotted.

"theres a good deal of rust on it so its not worth saving....im gonna practice shaving my drip rails and body seam with it"
i am crying after that comment and the pictures! that is rusty? i live in rust belt capital city! and that looks clean! i wish our rusty trucks looked like that! darn i hate the rust belt! i have to take a trip down south and out west! to get some cabs and beds! and parts! seems there is lots of clean trucks out of rust belt zones, amazing what road salt does, rust never sleeps, and up here in Canuck land its awake 24/7 and winter time is the rust season! i plan on oil guarding my truck at least 2 times a year, maybe 3! and washing and waxing every 2 weeks, and cleaning out drainage holes and cleaning out the leaves in cab cavities and staying 15 steps ahead of rust! you really have to keep up the fight and stop it where it starts! i don't want my restoration project rotting out in 5 years you have to be like Clint Eastwood or John Wayne and stop rust in its tracks! RUST
also it looks like you got one heck of a deal, and all that stuff inside has some ebay potential, and that cab looks promising! i bet someone would pay more than what you did!
Yeah, your right Brent, you notice these guys don't list where they are from so we don't come over there way and clean them all out of the good stuff!! Look at you, London Ontario, me Halifax Pa, snow and salt, then rain and leaves to clog everything up. We see another dentside on the road, and we twist our necks off as if we were looking at a girl in a bikini! Them, oh I guess I'll chop it up just for practice, lucky bums!
your right Tees77f150, i wish these guys would put there location down! and it must be nice to be able to cut up such a nice cab!, and if i come off like a jerk, well the reason i am so passionate about my comments, well once you buy a rust belt truck and do cab repairs and floor pans and bed repair, then you will get where i am coming from, i was lucky my cab isn't that bad, i mean i only had to replace both front cab mounts (because they would have rotted out in 3-4 years) and the drivers side floor pan (that side seems to go the fastest, i think the drivers boots full of salt and water does it) and the rear cab corners (completely cut the old corners off, to avoid rust from growing again) then the rocker panel corners, the corners in the lower part of the doors, both the front ones and back, on the passenger and driver side, and that's about it for cab repair, the roof is mint and so is the cowl vents and it seems that it was drained well up in the lower firewall sides, then there was box repairs, mostly needed because of previous owner screw up, but since boxes are so rare here, we had to get quarter panels to try and fix the middle of the bed on each side, then the salt put some minor rust under the bed (since the owner got a Texas box in the late 90s when he did the truck up) and luckily we found a 1977 4x4 F-150 short box frame, and it was put away some 13 years ago, and only had surface rust and even had some original frame paint in some spots! and for a complete mint rolling frame with a dana44 up front and 9 inch out back, with 3.50 gears and np205 transfer case, 500 bucks was a sweet deal! and i know i am way off topic and sorry! but i just had to share my rust belt woes
Naw, thats cool bro, I dont think anyone is taking any offense to what you or I said. We are all friends here, and just having a good time with our dents, and just envious of those who are not in the rust belt.
We just have to work twice as hard, and spend ten times the money to get our dents looking good as compaired to some of our western, or south western friends thats all.
well, im from arkansas and neither this cab nor mine are in that great of shape.....both need floor repairs and cab corner repairs....heres a pic of the back of the donor cab to show some of the rust, i know it could be fixed, but seems like alot of work...
heres a vid of the slider.....as you can see, the latch is rusted and the panes move up and down a little bit ............let me know if either of yall are still interested..........also, it appears that the whole wiring harness is here, but some wires have been chewed it looks like, but intact if anyones interested.........it has both of the f150 emblems, both in the same shape......how do i remove the door trim?
