Well, I assumed it was a wire because it is red. But now that I'm back from vacation and it finally stopped raining, I can investigate. It looks like a plugged vacuum that goes to F4UE-9E453-CA (vacuum canister?). There is also a white and a black vacuum going to the canister - the black one's connector at the canister is perished, so I need to fix that as well now. Just need to measure the size. I guess that if the red one is plugged, I don't need it?
After I removed the RV from storage it feels like it misfires. I checked the wiring for mice teeth marks, but nothing. I am looking at the plug boots next, but then I noticed this thing on the rear of the engine.
I'm going to clean the MAF sensor too, because the F53 has the air intake behind the grill and when it rains the air filter gets very soggy.
TSB 04-24-22 - but the parts are no longer available. Do a google search for "TSB 04-24-22" and you'll get some rv.net and other links where you can look into what you can do. I would imagine some imaginative engineering would work
Thanks
I found the TSB, but of course parts are not available from Ford.
I bought the RV a couple years ago, and at 66000 miles I'm sure the plugs are original. I'll change them when I look at the boots.
Off to the store tomorrow to buy some vacuum tubing.
Thanks for your help. I can always trust this forum mohave answers
