Belt tensioner

Belt tensioner
Ok folks. Need to replace alternator. When I pulled on the belt to set the lock on tensioner, it moved a little bit, but, when I let go of the belt to get a better grip, the tensioner did not spring back like it should. Am thinking new tensioner is needed.
First, it looks easy to remove.
Second, want to verify part number. 3c2z6b209aa
Thanks
Sean

Looks like you got the tensioner Sean.
If you still have an idler pulley issue my records show the bearing numbers to be:
smooth idler pulley bearings - 6203-2RS
grooved idler pulley bearings - 6303-2RS
I haven't done it but my notes say that you may have to drill some rivets and replace w/ bolts
Grooved Idler pulley (F-series) w/ single alternator 03-07 - # 3C3Z-8678-EB
My notes say that Dayco is the OEM supplier possibly P/N 89057 (90mm x 37.5mm 8 groove)
Lastly, my notes have a question mark by this one, but I THINK the Smooth Idler pulley (F-series) w/ single alternator is 7C3Z-8678-B.
Hopefully you don't have an idler pulley issue though!
Have you tracked down the burnt wire smell?

Real good chance it's the two grey 12ga fusible links between the fusible link splice coming off the pass batt and going to the alternator post. Second choice would be the smaller fusible link from that splice that goes to the connector on the alternator, the sense wire, to tell the regulator how much to make the alternator work.

Well, ended up at Ford.
Thank you for the video Jack. I hadn't thought of the cable. While I was at Ford, I asked about the cable from the alternator to battery. I didn't realize it is all one cable from alt to passenger battery to driver battery to starter to solenoide.
They want $128 for it. Thankfully it tested fine.
Everything is back together and working great!
Thanks for every ones help. Thanks for those part numbers Mark, the idler pulley seems fine, I left it for now.
