Tensioner pulley ?

The tensioner is the pully that is mounted on a moveable arm. It is spring loaded to keep tension on the belt. Then there's an idler pulley that does nothing but change the direction of the belt to line up with another pulley.
Not sure what you meant by removing the alternator. Could you give us more details??
