The stock sub with the Sony system is a complete joke! Has anyone looked at the "factory plug in" kicker sub? Will it work with the Sony system? Is that sub any better?
Beginning to believe the whole Sony system is a joke !! No matter what i do i still cannot find the sweet spot where the system can take a little base..
Just added an amp and two subs. Made the box myself for about $40 in materials. Amp was $100 and I had the subs already. If I turn it all the way up on the bass **** it blurs my vision haha. Totally good for your ears I'm sure. Turn it all the way down and they are barely noticeable. One of my favorite upgrades so far, I really missed the low notes.

Did you have the Sony sub back there? Did you tap into the "speaker/sub" lines from that or run new audio cables?

I would wire it like this even if you do have the stock sub. Playing around with it on my buddy's with the Sony system it seemed like the Sony eq lowered sub output when you cranked up the volume. Not sure if they did this by lowering voltage at the amp or more likely they were attenuating lower frequencies when the volume went up. You want your subs to have a full signal since they can handle it now lol.
