August 12th Race Planning Thread

What: Larry's August 12th Race

When: Saturday August 12th

Where: 565 Riggs Rd, Hubert, NC

Time: 1pm-until it's over

More details: ALL Race Dates Jumping Run Creek Mud Bog

We have enough folks going to start a planning thread.

Figure we can cook out for dinner.

Hopefully we can hang out with Larry's crew on the driver's side.

Suggestions for Hubert in August:
Bug Spray
Sunscreen
Hat
Shoes you can get dirty
Hearing protection for the kids. (noise not too bad. but we're all affected differently)
Sunglasses

I can bring a shade canopy. Cooler full of ice. Food and drinks. Bag chairs.

Whose going? Whatcha bringing? Ride share? Convoy? Post up.

I can throw in my canopy and I'm good with grabbing a ride this time, unless I have the 1 ton back on the road. Then I'll probably want to take the gas guzzler!

I'm open to food ideas. Though burgers and dogs is good with me. We can gourmet it on a grille!

There's a good chance I'll already be down east that weekend. I'll drive down from New Bern on Saturday and meet everyone there.

If I'm in town I'd be glad to haul a crew. I've got plenty of space.

If we are gonna have a big crowd we can get 2 decent size charcoal grills out there so y'all don't have to worry about bringing one.

That would be helpful. I'll bring a few bags of charcoal. Thanks.

So far I will be coming from the Asheville area with my Crewcab or Excursion not sure which one yet but got plenty of room for passengers if anyone wants a ride. I will be planning on staying the night. Hopefully my wife won't get ill before this trip. Can't wait to meet you all.

Soo the August 12 race has now been deemed a big pay out race. Some trucks will be showing up from out of state to take a stab at these pay outs. So with that being said the race start time got bumped up to 1. If in typical fashion I'm sure racing will actually start around 1:30 with the kids class.

here is the flyer that's going around.

Looking more like I'll be down east that weekend. I'll be coming from the New Bern area that morning. I'm still planning to bring supplies and charcoal.

Since it starts around 1pm do we want to do a late lunch or a big dinner?

If you need or want I can pull a truck to the races for you if you got an extra trailer laying around. I will be bringing my dually, just in case the wife gets ill again.
