I've done the same thing myself before, but you gotta know that a thread title like that cannot help but demand attention from the rest of us -- especially with your username being what it is! Worst case scenario... make up something new for a conversation if you really don't want to offer up the original details.
"alright alright alright, id be a lot kooler if I did!"
perhaps I should start all my threads like this for attention LMAO!
I was putting head studs in an IDI block yesterday and the studs were too long.
the top of the studs hit the rocker assemblies.
well I pulled a set off the shelf from my last IDI catastrophic failure,
and the new studs were a 1/2" longer.
I was asking if these were powerstroke studs.
but in my infinite IDIocracy, I realized that not only PSD bolts were metric, they also came in different lengths.
ive done one PSD head swap 5 years ago and I couldn't remember, until I went to a buddys house and checked out his PSD on the stand.
i completely installed the left upper control arm for my ranger on the right side lol. even had the tire back on and sitting on the ground hahaha! halfway through the left side, i realized what i had done
I installed the front hub bearing without the brake dust shield...twice...on the same project. Lesson learned: don't get distracted when doing work, especially re-work!
We're well on the way to passing up the Gas vs. PSD thread. Only 337 pages to go!
Had someone come in one day saying they wanted their oil checked as they just got it changed but it sounded weird. Coworker put two quarts in as the stick showed nothing, and then I noticed a huge wet spot in the parking lot.
Yep, the people that did the oil change either didn't tighten it up or forgot to put it in there and she drove a good five to ten miles like that.
Needless to say someone had a spun bearing or two.
When I was working at a paving company as a technician I forgot to spin a filter on tight, started to truck..lets just say who new that 6 gallons of 1540 could cover so much floor when spilled and the filter falls off...
posting a thread topic of "delete this please" is almost as bad as posting "DO NOT READ OR POST HERE!!!"
ya just know that everyone is gonna read, and post in the thread.
I bet it sounded wierd! Did she notice the funny red light thingy too?
She came in and said it was running and sounding funny, was lacking power too. Couldn't understand why as she just got an oil change done. I kind of wanted to laugh but also felt bad that they ruined her daily. The only other thing she has to drive is her old Corvette (which she doesn't like driving, I might add).
