Running Pressure Washer In Bed Of Truck
Hello everybody-
I have a 2016 F250 CCSB Lariat 4X4 6.2. I'm starting a new pressure washing business and am scared of running the pressure washer out of the bed of the truck because of all the vibration it produces and the effects that it could have on the truck down the road. If this was a keep it for 5 years and get rid of it truck I wouldn't care however this is a forever truck- like it will literally be a lawn ornament one day far far far from today. I don't want to haul my trailer around all the time so my other thought is to just lift the pressure washer (140 pounds) in and out of the truck...however I'm not sure how long I'll have the energy to do that.
has anybody had any experience running equipment that produces lots of vibration out of the back of your truck over long periods of time? Am I worrying for nothing?
thanks!

I would recommend you get a trailer for something like youre planning on doing. It frees up your truck bed plus the equipment can stay on the job if you need to leave.
If you had a rubber bed mat the vibration wouldnt be a concern.
I have two trailers...one 6x10 enclosed for tools. The other 7x16 open utility style.

Same here too. Our shop trucks run large air compressors in the beds for road side repairs and never have any issues.

Make sure you have a way to secure the pressure washer in the truck bed so it can't vibrate around. It will be really bad if you are blasting away & the washer moves around & the exhaust ends up right against the bed side. It WILL burn all the paint off your bed in short order. Or melt a hole thru your bed liner, then burn the paint off. Rig up a way to make sure the hoses are not rubbing on the paint while the washer is running.

Thanks for all the feedback. I wouldn't call it putting the truck into "commercial" service however it will work for a living. Regardless it is a Super Duty and anything shy of 300k is unacceptable. Like i said, one day it will be retired to my font yard with no less than 3xx,xxx on the clock. I Actually decided to go get a little 4x6 trailer just to ease my mind. I can get my hands on one for very cheap and it's good for my peace of mind.
