Hey guys. Been sort of a weird week. I noticed a puddle of oil under my truck about a week ago, looked under the hood and saw oil leaking from the fuel pump onto the cross member and then to the ground. That wasn't the biggest of problems, I never thought to tightened the bolts for whatever reason but going the road yesterday my foot went to the floor and the motor killed. Thank god I was almost home, because I had to coast into the driveway. I popped the hood and saw that the fuel pump had completely come off the block and both of the screws were gone. Anyways, does anybody know what size screws go from the fuel pump to the block on a 240 i6? I have the 360 on a stand waiting to go in, so its not a huge deal to let the truck sit for a week or two, but i'd like to continue to drive it daily as long as I am still cleaning up the 360.

If your I6 has an aluminum timing cover like the 360 the threads may be all boogered and need repair threads....never worked on an I6 with mechanical pump but have seen FE mounting holes ruined.

240/300 I-6: Fuel pump bolts to the left (drivers side) of the engine block, not to the timing cover.
Where ever it goes, still might want to verify the bolt holes are good and will hold new bolts. It's a place where threads may get ruined since you sometimes have tension on the pump during install. When bolts just fall out I like to look for the reason.
