2000 expedition steering column swap

2000 expedition steering column swap

a friend of mine had her 2000 expedition attempted to be stolen. They destroyed the ignition and pats module on the column. I replaced it with a used steering column that only has one key. It looks like even if I took the PCM out of the truck I got it from it would still need to be programmed. So I'm thinking I need a second key and the dealer to program it. I just need to know if this is right

The dealer can do it or a locksmith. A locksmith is usually about half the cost of a dealer.

I just want to make sure that all I have to do is have a locksmith come out and reprogram this system.
