1997 Expedition column replacement?

1997 Expedition column replacement?
My fiancee' has a '97 expo that needs the steering column replaced. Easy enough job, but my question is this:
When we swap the column over and install the original ignition switch, will the anti-theft stuff kick in? Will i need to have the vehicle reprogramed by the ford dealership?
