I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 4x4 4.0L ,
My problem is that my nephew broke the ignition and we called everywhere to get a new steering column but no luck we had to go to a salvage yard they had a 2000 w/tilt and keys with it ,they told me it would work ,i got home installed it everything lined up and was looking good but the anti-theft device is still flashing really fast and it still won't start can you help me figure it out. please help !
Hey, if that truck has the PATS (passive anti-theft system) then you will probably have to get it programmed at the dealer. The computer is programmed to check and verify that the key you are using is the one issued with the truck from the factory. If it detects an odd key, it will disable the ignition. My guess is that your truck won't start because of the PATS system.
