Disabled TPMS?

Hi Guys,
I writing first time in this forum. I am living in Dubai and bought new Ford Escape 2012 XLT 3.0L and after some time I realized that in my SUV there is no TPMS system so I asked the dealer and he confirmed me that in this model this option is not available. I checked so many websites and after that, I purchased motorcraft TPMS from Amazon and installed in my SUV and try to activate but no luck then I went to another dealer he checked all TPMS with MaxiTPMS and find all are working but after a lot of tries, he also not able to active the system. Please help me let me know how I can activate TPMS in my SUV. TPMS light is not glowing in the instrument cluster.

The aftermarket Motorcraft system isn't necessarily identical to the factory-fit system, what does "failed to activate" mean?

Is it dead?
Does it appear active but warn no sensors online?

More info needed to help...

Dear Simonsi, Thanks for your reply, As I told you earlier that in my Escape there is no factory fitted TPMS. I want to install or activate this system in my SUV, That is why I purchased Motorcraft TPMS with activation tool and I try following procedure but no luck.
1- Start by inserting the key into the ignition, but do not turn the vehicle on.
2- While the vehicle is off, pump the brake.
3-Turn the vehicle ignition on and off three times, ending with the ignition set to "on."
4-Pump the brake again.
5-Repeat the procedure outlined in steps 2-4 by turning the vehicle off, pumping the brake, turning the ignition on and off three times, and then pressing the brake again.

But no horn sound is coming and TPMS light also not glowing.
Then I want to local mechanic he has Maxi TPMS tool and he checks all sensors and load detail in the PCM but and revised the above mention procedure but TPMS light is not glowing or you can say that vehicle not going relearn mode.

Following Sensor, I installed in my SUV
Set of 4 Genuine Ford Motorcraft Tire Pressure Sensors TPMS12 DE8T-1A180-AA
Motorcraft TPMS19 Transmitter

So you have bought the tire sensors and the TPMS training tool - but if your vehicle doesn't have TPMS then there is likely nothing on the car to train or talk to the tire sensors.

I think you have a vehicle component (eg an aerial unit and possibly an ECU), or possibly the TPMS function needs enabling on an ECU already fitted to the car (otherwise the ECU would be reporting TPMS issues if tire sensors weren't fitted).

A wiring diagram for a vehicle fitted with factory TPMS would show you, or a Ford dealer can probably tell you.

The kit you have bought is to enable you to replace the tire sensors on a vehicle already fitted with factory TPMS as far as I can see, it isn't a kit to ADD TPMS to a vehicle not already fitted with it.

Yes, I think TPMS function needs enabling in the ECU and that is I don't know
Can You help me more where I found ECU and how to enable TPMS.

I have Vxdiag-Ford software it will help me to enable TPMS?

TPMS is a federal mandated safety system in the USA so there'll no way or even listed on how to enable it which means one could disable it which would be against the law.

I agree with you, but unfortunately they sold here without TPMS. I already comfirm with local dealer here in Dubai.
I already asked him to activate this but they replied that till now noboday contact them to resolve this issue and they also don't know how to activate. They also told me that I you want to activate then leave the vehicle and we will try.

The TPMS receiver and intelligence is built into the SJB (Smart Junction Box). The SJB is a major unit that resides in the front of the console. It controls many of the electrical functions in the vehicle. It was downloaded in the factory with the program to support the features the car was equipped with.
If an SJB is replaced, the new one has to be programmed to work.

So questions would be...
Does your SJB have the TPMS hardware functionality resident on it? Or did Ford make a limited-function SJB just for export use?

And if the SJB is TPMS-capable, then someone with the proper tool and experience would need to download/turn-on the TPMS functionality. I have no idea if that would be a simple thing to do via using the programming tool to do a SJB read, then a select TPMS to "ON", or if the vehicle's existing SJB software load must be copied up into the tool system, change made, then downloaded over the previous SJB load, or what.

A similar thing has come up before concerning adding a trailer hitch. A factory install trailer has a anti-sway option which one can turn ON/OFF. I can tell that there was nothing in the Ford Workshop Manual in the programming of the SJB or anywhere else about the anti-sway option. The same goes for DRL(Daytime Running Lights) although some have claimed that their dealer enabled it. DRL is mandated in Canada so those vehicles have it. These aren't federal mandated in the US.

One TB I had installed claimed to have reprogrammed my 4WD module and there's nothing in the manual about that either. Just more confusion from Ford!

You right. I checked so many forums and searches websites but didn't find the solution.
