Having trouble with the check engine light coming on at various times while driving. When this happens the truck starts missing, and gives the impression it is running off of 4 cylinders. If you turn the key off for 10 seconds and back on check engine light goes off and it runs really well until the next episode (which could be in 3 minutes or 3 days). Any ideas? 94 F350 Powerstroke 7.3. All input welcome
The ICP Sensor is the little two wire sensor in my middle photo? It doesn't make a difference when I unplug it if the check engine light is on. The valve cover gaskets and harnesses underneath are new. I am starting to think the four big injector plugs that go to the valve covers themselves must have a burnt pin or something.
The shop that tried to read the codes works on OBS Powerstrokes. There is always one sitting there. My truck was converted to OBD II when my last set of injectors were built (at a different shop that knows their stuff) so those shops should not be having trouble retrieving those codes.
