Check Engine Light On Solid And Running Badddd

After Warming My 02 7.3 Diesel The Check Engine Light Came On And When It Shifts Into O.d. The Truck Shakes But The Engine Does Not Smoke. It Still Does It With O.d. Off...any Thoughts????

You should read your fault codes..Great help on figuring out whats going on.. Does it run smooth at a idle?

Is it bone stock? If you had a tuner, it would be very helpful to pull your codes off.

many times, with those symtoms, you have something wrong under one of the valve covers. most likely the UVC (under valve cover) plug has worked loose but it could also be a chaffed wire on the UVC harness. the easiest way to check is to start the truck and unplug each of the outside VC plugs (push down on the top and pull) one at a time. if you unplug one and the truck runs worse or dies...its not that side. if you unplug it and nothing happens...than its something with that side.

I bet it pulls a 1316, which means IDM code stored, which probably means UVC harness connection issue. Either that or it will throw a code for contribution issue. Get codes read.
