Ford trailer camera with 5th wheel????

Ok, I know this was discussed quite a bit last fall, but I really haven't kept up with things recently since I taking delivery of my truck in 12/16. I'm finally getting around to hooking up the camera on the back of my 5th wheel/toy hauler, and I just don't see any way to leave adequate slack in the cord behind the pin box to be able to plug into the bumper outlet, and still be able to turn the truck 90 degrees to the camper. If I've got enough slack to make the full turn, then there is potentially enough slack to catch the bumper as you're turning. Not sure if I'm adequately describing things, but I'm not sure how else to explain it. Has this not been an issue for anyone else?

I know there was someone on here who was selling the wiring & box to move the outlet to the bed of the truck, where Ford should have at least offered it as an option in the first place. Is Ford offering any in the bed plug option yet? Or does anyone have some other solution?

Yeah I tried to use the plug in the rear of the truck and it sucked. The cable was not secure enough to prevent it from slapping against my 5th wheel while towing. I too will go with the in bed cable solution provided by Nicholls Manufacturing. Ford should have tested this before the sold the kit with their trucks. I thought I had enough slack when I had it all secured before I started towing but as soon as I had to turn the truck/trailer at full lock on the steering wheel it popped out. Happy he cable did not break.

Same here, I went with Nichols box and ane straight wire, installed the 12/7 dual socket that comes with the camera kit in the bed and kept the factory 4/7 in the bumper.

I also did the same, nice clean install and Nichols has the size 2 box for people who ordered their truck with the spray in bed liner. The fit still wasn't 100% to the plastic factory one but at least you don't see paint around it anymore. I made a cork gasket to take up some of the space and installed it along with the Nichols rubber one.

Okay, I guess I'll have to go with the Nichols setup. I tried calling them, but had to leave a voice mail and they haven't gotten back to me yet. I see they're offering the aluminum box now, so you shouldn't have to deal with the steel one rusting over time. Do the holes on their new box line up with the original holes in the bed, or do you have to redrill?

Some cutting and replacing the threaded clip is required, I will be posting a video of doing mine shortly.
