Excursion underdash wiring
First, where can I tie the camera into the back up light circuit? Cannot seem to find it near the column.
Secondly, the green with black tracer wire pictured is on the back of the fuse panel, right side towards the top. It has been cut and a spade connector put on the end like it was a ground. I tested it for power, no output from what I could find in any key position.
I dont have an answer for the green/black wire. On the camera, I have my monitor tapped into a "hot in run" wire in the overhead console, my monitor is mounted above the rear view mirror. The camera is on the license plate, powered by a back up light wire.
Sorry, 2003 6.0 Eddie Bauer diesel. Regarding the camera, I need to tie the wire from the head unit into back up light power, that's why I'm looking under dash. Fairly consistent answers of Black/Pink, but no one can pin point it otherwise. Need to get under there again I guess.
That makes sense, different application than mine. I'm not sure where to pick up the back up power wire under the dash. Others may have researched and found it for their install. I would have to look at a diagram. Signal will come from the switch mounted on the trans, then to rear lights. It may send a signal to the PCM, which would be inside, but I don't know that for sure.
I find that my camera needs a few seconds to warm up. If it only gets power in reverse, it will take a long time to warm up so that you can use it. Does your camera have a power button? You may need to hit the power button each time you shift into reverse.

I wan to say going from memory, that the back-up light wire also goes to the rear view mirror if you have a auto dimming rearview. It dims when it sees you have the lights on, but if you put it in reverse it gets rid of the dimming feature until you take it out of reverse again.
