Thanks - downloaded the latest one - didn't have Android Auto support. Downloaded the .113 version and it worked fine with Android Auto.

Just remember it is still in Beta so it will be buggy. I.E. you are supposed to open it in the phone first and then plug in, it crashes the app on my phone but keeps running in AA. Also doesn't show speed limit or your speed yet.

 

Have there been any updates to the Waze APK? The last version I know about is 4.24.0.113

wb6anp did you have any trouble getting started after you downloaded the beta app? I was approved as an iOS beta tester & got the link to down load today which I did this evening. Trouble is the links they sent to allow me to figure this out (FAQ, Centercode, etc) go to the same unhelpful page so I can't get started. Sounds like something hasn't been activated for me yet.

I'm only able to access .903 and am not able to sign up for the beta for some reason. Any pointers around how I could sign up? Waze doesn't allow me to create a password or will not send me a new one. It's weird.

 

I am a Waze beta tester on iOS also, you need to down load "test flight" from the app store, once installed you must receive an email from Waze with a TestFlight link, that will install the Beta version

 

wb6anp I applied, was selected, received an invite w/a link to download the beta version which I did. It seems to be functional but I expected it to appear on my Sync 3 Car Play screen which it does not. Also none of the links on the email invite that describe how to do reporting, etc work. I emailed the help desk & they responded inviting me to apply to be a beta tester. Since I was already approved as a beta tester this doesn't make any sense. Thoughts?

The reason it does not show up in CarPlay is that there is no CarPlay support at this time only Android Auto as far as I have found. All reporting is done through Centercode website, I am very much hoping for CarPlay support as well but I guess time will tell.

 

I've been using waze since the beginning of the year on my iPhone 7. It seemed to work fine. I wrongly assumed the beta test was to upgrade waze to work with CarPlay. Since that's not the case can anyone tell me what improvements are being made available with the beta test version? Were there features that didn't work on iOS devices? In other words what am I beta testing?

 

I've not heard of any plans for Apple to allow 3rd party navigation apps in CarPlay. So, I wouldn't hold your breath.
