I think the New York truck looks good, but the front of the bed at the stake pockets is very rusty, not just surface rust. Probably had a tool box mounted there at one time. I still think that truck looks far superior to anything else you've posted. If the rest of the truck checks out, use that bed rust as a bargaining chip.
The inner fenders are bright silver which looks like a patch job to me. Look for more rust than this guy is admitting to with the bed as mentioned above. Still looks pretty solid, interior looks good, no cheap plastic bed liner to cover gaping holes like mine.
slim pickings near you means this truck will go for more than it's worth but I'll bet you could get it for 4K or so which I don't think would be a bad deal if it drives well.
I finally got a hold of the Pittsburgh seller, but he said he wasn't sure if he wanted to sell the truck or not. He said the $1234 was just to see what was out there, etc... but he didn't sound like he was going to come off the truck easily.
I put a $4k offer out to the Syracuse guy, but no reply for a little while.
So bizarre request, but if you end up buying the one in the above engine pic, grab the part# off that fan shroud for me .... I got one but I like that one better and that's my engine combination also...... Shameless request... I know...

LOL.. you got it For both our sake, I hope I come through.
Even with the engine combo there are 3 different size shrouds... so you want measurements and a part number. Ask how I know.
I hate when people want to "see whats out there". People at that stage aren't ever going to get the 25k that it would require for them to let go of their favorite truck. I live in Pittsburgh, I'll see if I can hunt him down and punch him in the face for you.
Thats no joke, I love the "just testing the waters" say what ? Cuz there are a few thousand folks who have been staying up at night waiting for you to 'think about' selling your truck , Gotta love stuff like "I know what my truck is worth, don't bother offering anything lower, don't waste my time" I guess you had better bow down to that seller upon arrival and give him a 10% finders fee ??
Syracuse truck got sold. Bummer. The search continues - I'm tempted to just find a deal out west and have it shipped here if I can get it inspected properly.
And yeah... the Pittsburgh guy just hung on the phone after saying all that like I was supposed to be taking out a second mortgage for an offer to throw his way. Not a big fan.
Negative - I emailed him to ask about coming out next week to check it out and he told me sold it yesterday. Easy come, easy go? I'm running through searchtempest.com now to cast a wider net and maybe ship something from out west to here.
Lame. Maybe you'll get the next one that comes around.
Thanks, man! A little patience goes a long way and it's not like they're impossible to find - and there's a little fun in the search for them, if I'm being honest.
Have you guys ever worked with eBay for trucks? Is that a safe enough option?
CAVEAT EMPTOR! Let the buyer beware.
Do not believe a single word that private sellers claim, as they lie just like new/used car dealers, lawyers, politicians & TV evangelists.
Do not believe the miles shown on the odometer, as it reads to 99999.9 then returns to ZERO!
If you cannot inspect the trucks in person, hire someone to do it. There are ads for people that do this in the Services Offered section of Hemming's Motor News.
ebay also has people that inspect vehicles, but I've never used them.
If you buy a vehicle without inspecting it, you most likely will end up with a pig-in-a-poke (rusty POS old rolling pile of miseries).
