Ok so here is my quick look over X2 on what all has been said. And...
Way over priced for what is looks like let alone what I am sure it really is. Because...
360 is not all that, insert gas hog. Those turbine rims are 16.5...looked for any of those tires lately? Pretty much impossible to find unless you get mil take offs that are 36" or 37". I am sure the tires have tread, but are NOT new. Has Dodge rims on it also, probably 16's, that odd. Put one turbine on for the pic.
Gas tank cab, but the bed has a gas flap. Yes the rear bumper is bent. You do not have any trim on the dvrs side bed/passenger bed side and fender. Door mirrors are wrong all day long. Dent in passenger side bed. Trim on tail lights, but NO trim on tail gate.
I am sure that the vice grips on the battery hold the battery cable on just fine, but not for $6500. Looks like overall spray paint job, passenger side rocker is red with black over spray. Holes in the dvrs side cab B pillar from a handle. Great way to rust out a B pillar.
Nice hole for a stereo, nice trashed steering wheel and horn insert. Looks like NO headliner. Air filter missing neck. Painted door panels black is worn off on the arm rest showing tan.
Those floor pans are rusty for sure. Ok so NOT rotted, but rusty. Spare doors are included why? I bet the ones on the truck are rusty. They came off a rusty truck with race trac trim. Yours does not have race trac trim.
$5500 for a camper top and $1000 for the truck DEAL. Maybe out east that is a deal, but no way no how in the midwest.

Thanks for all the incredible feedback! It blows my mind what a wealth of knowledge forums can be.
I've found what looks like a great deal on a suitable project / starter truck in Pittsburgh. Not a lot of info posted by the seller, so I'm not sure where to begin with questions. Start with the vehicle history and go from there?
The 1234 I don't think is a real price? I think he's looking for offers. I would request a bunch more pictures for sure. If the rest of the body is as good as what is shown and decent interior it seems pretty good depending on how much. Also the motor that's in it who knows if it actually runs so consider that, and he has no way to prove it to you. As long as your good with installing everything else that is needed for it to run and or have to swap the motor it might be good again depending on what he wants for it. How mechanically inclined are you? Are you capable of a motor swap or rebuild or pay for it to happen incase that is a bad motor? How long has he had it as a project? How long has that motor been sitting in it not doing anything? If it has been sitting for a long time, I think it would be a good idea to swap all fluids for new. I did that on the 79 I'm working on since it has been sitting for 7 years and you find rusty looking diff fluid possibly. If your looking for something to be out and driving in a week ide keep looking. If you want something to tinker on and work on and have it running (depending on how much time you can put in it each day) A month or so longer if you need a new motor..... bring a breaker bar with sockets to hand turn the motor over to see if it's seized up. You want it to be decently still if it has good seals and compression. If it is super simple like you can bring your 3/8 or 1/2 socket wrench and easily turn it over that would be of concern I would think. As of now as for as many detailed pics of everything since you would need to haul a trailer over there. Ask him for a list of everything that is missing. Figure out what everything will cost you. Find out how much for sure he is asking. If it's $500 ide say get your butt over there and buy it. If it's 3,000 even we need the deets on what is needed and more pics! haha!
Agreed that the price doesn't seem real and he's looking for offers. Like said above, I'd be very skeptical of something I couldn't hear run. I cruise Pittsburgh craigslist often looking at whats out there and I haven't seen this on there yet, so it's not something that's been sitting on craigslist for a few months, which is good.
The things that he's saying it needs aren't very difficult or expensive necessarily, a couple hundred bucks and a few hours time. Ask a lot of questions and get a ton of pictures and post everything up here.
So IMO for 6k your should be able to get a truck in way better condition.
I just cruised the Vermont Craigslist, looks like you have slim pickings up that way.
Unless you're looking for maple syrup or great beer, the selection up here is pretty thin! I used to live in the DC area and Craigslist was a treasure trove of weightlifting gear, furniture, etc... you name it. Much happier living up here, though!
- np205 transfer case
- driver side bed has some surface rust
- odometer is 38,000 - most likely 138,000
- current owner bought it from an old timer that rarely drove it
- leafs and shocks are not stock, but everything else might be?
- I can't run a vehicle history report, but the VIN checks out for a 77
Now you are looking at a truck worth the $...IMO. OBO so start it at 3000 CASH and see how that works. Cab gas tank and bed with twin gas flaps, I bet the bed had be swapped on.

Not mine I just know its there...Have you never taken the time to read the REDREAD FIRST threads at the top of this forum? Find a lap top or a PC and spend a rainy day reading up. TONS of info from many FTE members over the years.
I read some of the compilation thread, but haven't done much on the crewcab or tech threads. I'm not knee deep in an auto project yet and am not going the crewcab route just yet. Baby steps
That truck is wayyyyyyy! Better than the last one! That one seems pretty solid. Like what was said bed was probably swapped but that's no biggy. Most beds by now have been probably anyways. I doubt he will take the 3k cash, but it is someplace to start and you just never know. No engine pics . Make sure to crawl under it and inspect all that real good for leaks and rust. Check for leaks after test driving it getting it all nice and hot. I noticed yesterday I have developed an oil leak I need to investigate now that I've been driving and pressure washer the truck haha.
