Can anyone post pics of this mounted in their truck?
If it doesn't require tearing up the truck, and doesn't impede visibility too much, this is one of the few areas that I'll stray from OEM in the cab.
Airborne, seriously? I was kinda making fun of the homemade overhead console in my truck. It's absolute garbage. Surely someone will post us some pics of the LMC or Vertically Driven versions
Bought one of the LMC ones and it came in damaged; probably not entirely a bad thing though as its mounting system for the sunvisors would not work satisfactorily. The shelf itself was only about 4-5", and whatever was on the shelf was clearly visible from the front of the vehicle (not saying I would store a gun there but let's say anything there would be all too clearly visible.) I would not recommend it.
I will say this - when I communicated all the issues to LMC Customer Service they handled it and got me satisfied on the same phone call. Can't complain.
I bought a 79 parts truck with some rust and one in it and it was a forhead banger for sure. I am 6" and it would NOT work at all unless you were a short guy. lol
I believe it mounted with brackets (?) attached to the OEM sun visor holes, but solid and wide enough you could put a rifle up there and it did NOT have the sun visors attached below it, but it had the holes to attach them.
Sorry only pics I have and you can just barely see it.
That would be the one. If you look at the holes where the visors should mount, and the existing sun visor's angle of mounting/range of travel, you can see that the visors would be unusable (probably why his are not mounted.) I'm pretty short so the location was OK, what bothered me was that the shelf goes straight across the windshield so that near the middle there is a heck of a gap. Also there is only a small lip on the front edge so anything on the shelf is clearly visible to whomever is shopping your possessions. One of these days I thought I could make something which corresponds to the curve of the windshield, and add a front lip or maybe an opaque shade strip on the windshield to make it more private. That's about number 27 on the urgent project list...
