New headliner and overhead console

Well I finally got pics of putting a headliner / overhead console from a late 90's explorer.

I like it. It never had a headliner before and It helps on the sound. The pics are in my gallery under '85 mods.

I just wanted to let you guys to know...

That's pretty cool. I've thought of doing that myself, but never had the motivation to actually do it.

What's the stuff between the OHConsole and the headliner? I know it'd be impossible to mount it up without some form of either spacer or cutting on the console itself, but that looks kind of interesting...

Its just a big rope I hot glued to the side. It does help hide the huge gaps. My glue job was a little sloppy, but hey, I was working on this project for 3 nights in a row freezing the twins off. Trying to hot glue something on your back in the low 20's when you know this is the final thing you have to do doesn't really work out well.

Looks good, I have pondered more storage at a reasonable rate. What sensors did you have to install to make everything work? Just curious
Nice Job

The compass sensor and everything is inside the unit, all you need is power to the OHconsole to use the lights and compass. The temp sensor I bought from the dealership for ~$20. I'm still working out the bugs for the temp. It likes to stick at a certain degree, like last night it stayed at 24* even though it was 34-36*.

But 2 out of 3 ain't bad. lol

Yea I do like that, Solves alot of problems. Was a Great install, I am sure others will find it useful, but the problem is finding time, and incentive to do the job
