On my 99 250 I have 18x9 +18 offset rims with new 325/65r18 Nitto Terra Grapplers bought the truck this way and leveling kit. They rub the leaf packs like crazy 3pt turns everywhere seems like and it's getting old quick. I can get no where near full lock. Want to go with 16x10s and 315s what offset would I want to keep the outside of the tire as close to the outside fender Well as possible without rubbing leafs. What offset should I aim for? Any pictures of setups would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
I know you said 16's but my suggestion would be to go with a 17x9 with -12mm offset. That setup works well with the 35x12.50 type tire. For a 16x10 wheel the proper offset would be -24mm. Anything more negative works too, but it starts to stick outside of the fender even more.
The current wheels on your truck are the offset needed on a 2005+ truck.

Not sure but wouldnt it be 0 offset for the 16x10 to be the same as the 17x9 -12 due to the extra .5 in of rim on both sides? And I would like to stick with 16 just for the fact of cheaper tires and I have always liked more tire than rim. Thanks for the info on the 05+ trucks that will help when I go to sell my current setup.

12mm is basically .5". So going to a 10" wheel and maintaining enough distance from the leaf springs, you need to move the wheel that .5" farther away from the spring, hence the -24mm offset vs the -12mm of the 9" wheel.
Hey sorry if this is a dumb question! Only my 2nd Ford Truck and new to this forum. I got my Excursion last year and looking for bigger tires. I think 35s just look like the right size for something that big lol. Same offset for Excursion? I've read they're pretty much an F250 front bumper to first set of doors.
Thanks!
Not sure my 35s have the spokes in the middle of the rim keeps them off the springs definitely do t want a wheel that has the spokes towards the outer edge like my truck came with
The -24 works for excursion and 16x10 with some 315/75r16
i had to pull back the front plastic wheel well with some zip ties cause it rubbed at the rear of the wheel well. This was only offroading with front compressed and turning.
17x9 rims with 35x12.50 tires worked perfect. No spring contact and only stick out about an inch. I did install F-250 springs on the front. Thanks y'all!
