Another Rim/Tire question...Will it work?

2004 F-150 Supercrew 4x4
Looking at purchasing a tire / wheel combo and getting a leveling kit. Listed is what I would like to do and would greatly appreciate your input…
Leveling kit: AS 2 ½” Front AS 3” Rear
Wheels: Dick Cepek DC-1
17 x 9 - 12 Offset 4.56 Backspacing
Tires: Undecided on Brand, leaning towards Kumho’s
Size: 315-70-17
Cost would be around 1300.00 for wheels and tires through tirerack and 180.00 for the leveling kit
I have been searching pictures and threads and there has been some great looking trucks but mostly seem to be with 18” or 20’s. A 3” body lift may be in the future, can I get by with doing just a leveling kit and doing a body lift later? Thanks for your time………

not sure what you are asking

with just a simple 2.5" leveling kit on the front of a 4x4 truck, you can fit a 35" tire easily. no need to do the rear except for looks. plenty of room.

if you have a 4x2, then you can easily fit a 33" tire...and maybe a 34" tire with a leveling kit installed. I personally wouldn't run anything bigger than 34" on a 4x2.

as for the body lift...they work. I know a few guys running 37" tires with a 2.5" front kit and a 3" body kit.

Thanks for the reply…From reading I would believe that the 315-70-17 tire would be fine with at least a leveling kit in the front. I’m only going with a rear kit for possible towing…Just concerned with the wheels; want to make sure on the offset and b.s Thanks

I think you'll be fine. try this link and it will allow you to compare many different sizes and how they interact.

Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing

I took a 265/70/17 (32") and compared against the 315/70/17 (34.5")...it looks like a doable combo to me.

I know plenty of guys run 325 width tires without rubbing. the 315 width is just under 12.5" wide...so you are less likely to have any rubbing issues. and that is for stock rims. I had 35/12.5/18 Toyo M/T's and the Kumho M/T's mounted up on my old FX4 and it worked. Didn't do the deal on either tire though because of the price ($1,800...ouch)...looked really nice though.

wish I could be of help with those rims...but I have no idea about 'em. Of all the things I've done over the years, I've never bought rims.
