Bed crossmember question

If this is a stupid question I apologize in advance (I've been in the shop way too long today). I'm bolting the two center crossmember to the frame on my 51 and using the bolts supplied in the kit (Midwest early Ford) I'm not sure the correct way. Do these go from under the frame through the crossmember and then somehow get a wrench inside the crossmember to hold it to tighten? Or, do they go from the top which in this case I need longer bolts.

Thanks,
Matt

Those are held down by the big bolts in the boards.

That makes sense thanks. What is confusing is they didn't send long enough bolts to do it that way. This was the only instructions included.

Here is a material list that northern classics had with my bed

They use a sub frame so the bolt length may not matchup

The crossmembers are held to the frame with these four bolts. ("A" in Schoo's parts list)

Thank you. I'm throwing away that instruction list. For the front crossmember, it bolts directly to the frame, correct?

On a '51, yes.

BTW, Schoo's material list/drawing shows two bolts (similar to the 4 and also labelled "A") that don't exist on pre-'51 beds.
