We can't burn here either..
When i was a kid we used to burn the trash every week in the barrels then the garbage men would empty the ash

There was a school in the neighborhood. The roof drained thru 6" cast iron pipes. We would stuff paper and leaves up them and light it up. We did this under the cover of the bushes in front of the building. Someone always noticed the smoke coming from the roof and stopped at the fire pull box across the street. We were long gone by then. LOL
