Havent done that Rick. Wall between our dining room and living room is load bearing. Helps hold up the second floor. And the wall between the kitchen and the dining room has a large opening in it already compared to the other ones in the house. To make that bigger would require tearing into the original exterior wall of the house which would not be fun especially considering it is a a cinder block wall. Ordering windows for the original house is always fun because of the cinder block walls.

We have a ranch with a trussed roof. Only supporting walls are the front and back. Easy to remove every wall and reconfigure.

I know that! My entire working career was with a union of some sorts.
I always carried a roofer's card, It covered everything.
