06 F550 w/5r110w. Truck and trans runs great then trans acts like it was shifted into neutral, rpm's flare up and if you don't get your foot out of it the trans will re engage aggressively. Changed the speed sensor on the rear axle, there are no codes, had a trans shop change the filters and fluids then change out all of the solenoids. They tell me its not a trans problem. Any opinions?
Not any Help Sarge. Curious to know what experiences others have had when the truck acts up but no check engine light or wrench light comes on. I plan to replace the harness from the trans to the ECM. I have 4 F550's with 6.0's but never had this issue.
What's their explanation for how it's NOT a transmission problem? There aren't a lot of other parts that will slam together on a vehicle. Unless they consider the TC to not be part of the transmission?
In the transmission manual, Routine 214 for "Feel Concern - Some/All" involves checking line pressure, the fluid pump assembly, and the torque converter (the part that can slam, kind of like your original complaint?), so if they just threw in new solenoids and said "that oughta do'er" then yeah, I echo the sentiment of find a shop that will do a real diagnosis.
