Dash gauges stuck

2004 f350. Trucks starts, runs, normal. But just noticed the gauges are not moving. Speedo stuck at 50, tach is at idle. Lights up just fine.

Have a code for the fuel sender, had that issue for awhile now, but also have u1262.

Thoughts on most common areas to search?

Thanks

Little guid on the DTCs that is handy.

EDIT : OOPS sorry that one does not have the Uxxx codes in it.

The codes that start with a U tend to be communications codes.
Sounds like you may have a network issue with the truck.

If what Benny told you to do does not work I would pull
the dash so you have access to the the cluster and check
to see that both of the connectors at the tops are fully seated.

I am coming up with this for that code. U1262 SCP - Communication Bus Fault.

Will try this today. But what does this procedure do? Or what was its original intent from Ford?
Thanks

Clears all the learned parameters in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module)
aka Computer. For had a slightly different way to do the same thing but
you need to have there scan tool or or one that can reset KAM (Keep Alice Memory)

What happens is something a bug or glitch gets into the KAM and
clearing it also clears the glitch.

Please report back with what you find.

Well not sure this is good news. The gauges all started acting normally again. It appears I may have the worst type of of problem. Intermittent.
Keeping fingers crossed it keeps working.

You might want to check the plugs on the top of the cluster.
If they are loose this cam happen.

Had the batteries disconnected to replace a few injectors. Running fine but the gauges are stuck again. A rap to the console may get them going again. Usually not.
But also noticed one of the power windows no longer works.
Did a bit more research, sounds like this is one of the symptoms of a gauge cluster going bad.
Does that seem reasonable or anyway to confirm it?

Not sure how to confirm it, but sure sounds like you are heading for an instrument cluster repair.

Had the truck for about 20k miles now. Had one bad injector #6 when we got it. Ran poorly, guy gave us a great deal. Replaced that one, ran great. Recently started showing a misfire on#2. Son replaced the rest of the injectors on that side yesterday. 240k miles original injectors.
In my research I am reading a bad gauge cluster may cause intermittent misfires. Wonder if we were premature in changing injectors?
