After truck is hot, when I stop the truck then shift to reverse, the engine sounds like a diesel engine and like it will possibly stall. When I give it gas the noise/rumble stops. When I shift to forward I does it very slightly then goes away. Doesn't do this every time and It seems I can go a few days to a week without it happening. Seems to occur more after driving on bumpy dirt roads at higher speeds (80km/hr)
I think you might be having the same issue as I am. If you have one of the 3v titans ,It's not the torque converter at but probably the VCT selenoids or phasers going bad . What motor do you have. Just my opinion though. Easy to check though
5.4L V8 Engine. The dealership just changed a solenoid due to the engine light being on. I will have to go back and look to see if it was the VCT Solenoid
