Tried installing the Husky mud guards. Attempted installing only one.... And failed. The fitment seemed OK, but installation was not great. They are advertised as"no drill" however the recommended installation is drilling two 1/8 inch holes, otherwise it only has two screws and some 3m tape holding them on. The two screws that are used are the oem screws holding the plastic rock guard and wheel liner in place. My experience was those screws were too short after adding the thickness of the mud guards to the equation. I feel it was overall a bad install design. I should have known when I received the package from FedEx that this wasnt going to go well, the box was beat up with layers of packing tape and two other address labels that had been scratched out. I guess I will be at least the third person to return these things!
I was wondering about those.. my husky floor liners showed up yesterday and was considering getting those mud flaps too. I'll spend that on something else after reading this.
The huskies I used, I used the spring clips instead of drilling for a screw front and back with no problem & I also have the front hard plastic well liners as well front & back. I got mine direct from Huskey. Old stock didn't come with the spring clips for the top just a extra screw and double sided tape for the top mount. Thats why I always get direct and not from Amazon or discount place for new design. Didn't like the Weather Techs size inside the fender well I have a full set of weather tech's if any one local wants them.
Front
Rear
That seems like the way to go. I did the rear liners, but not the front. Part of my difficulty was the front felt type liners kept flexing and I couldn't get behind it to support it while running the oem screws back in. I probably threw in the towel a little early on this project, but I wasn't happy with the way it was going.
If you get up under the back side with your hand you can hold the front wheel well liner and line up the factory screws. Mine came with longer screws that worked perfect, about 30 min for all 4. The upper clips were the hardest part there tight.
Looks great!! I just installed husky mud flaps on my dually. Here's before and after. I'll try to add some more up close pictures. First post guys so bear with me.......
I should also mention install was fairly easy. Remove 4 plastic push clips and 1 screw from each side. Clean area. Install paint film protection. Install mud flap with (1) of the original plastic push clips, the (1) original screw and then you use (3) metal clips/screws where the other 3 plastic clips were.
