Summit did not tell me that when I ordered mine. That being said, when I ordered from 4wheel parts, I did not have to put a core charge in, did not pay taxes and there was no shipping charges either. I am gonna send my calipers back to power stop to get some extra back. Since I did not have a core charge, whatever I get back is extra.
Just put the powerstop z36 on mine all they way around. Have not done the ss hoses yet but stopping power is much improved from the old set up. Believe the only diff from the z36 and 23 is the back of the pad. One is ss and the other is something else if not mistaken. 4wheel parts had the best prices I could find, hands down. Furthermore, you do not have to pay for a core charge with them and then send the calipers back on your dime. Don't know if it works like that at the other dealers but it did with the few I looked at. I can also tell you that one of my rear caliper slide pins were boogered up and crossed threaded. Had to use one off of my old set up. No big deal, works as it is supposed to.
RunDm:
The kit you found at 4Wheel Parts.........did the kit include both the front and rears? The one pictured on their website shows only the fronts, but the description of the kits says front and rears??? They are on sale for 25% off and free shipping!!
The ones I got were both the front and the back and they were the Z36. Did not have to pay for a core charge so did not have to send anything back. I talked with powerstop customer service and they told me they would buy the calipers back from me if I sent them to them. They did not tell me how much they would give me for them. I checked 4wheel parts yesterday but they did not have the 25 percent off for my jeep set up.
Well guys I got the brakes done on Tuesday. I couldn't be happier with them!
There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between these and the stock brakes!
Unfortunately I wasn't able to do the brake lines because the kit was missing one of the lines!
There was supposed to be 5 lines that come in the kit but my box only had 4!
I'm returning them to Summit for a full refund. They couldn't do an exchange because they said they were out of stock. So I ordered a set from eBay and they should be here next week.
I just installed this kit from 1A. Very good value for the money. I had PS rotors/pads installed in my previous excursion and I think I paid 100+ more for the kit (not including calipers) and did not notice much difference. I used 1A brake rotors on my other vehicle and have had no issues so I thought I'd give this a try.
I utilized this kit from 1A and changed out all the lines to Russell SS ones with a complete brake flush. What a night and day difference. It definitely does not stop like a big truck like it is. Excellent firm pedal feel and stops great. I think the biggest change was because I did everything rotors, pads, lines, flush but the 1A kit works for me.
One thing to make a note of is the Russell lines come with 8 SS crush washers. They feel quite cheap and doing a search on google comes up that they fail and corrode. I didn't have new copper washers on hand, so I utilized the old copper ones on the front and back. The back ended up slowly leaking so I put 4 of the Russell SS ones which stopped the leak. When I have time and before winter I'm going to swap the rear washers to the OEM copper. They were .93 a piece at the dealer. Something to think about because the last thing you want is brake failure when you need it most.

I ended up going with the PowerStop Z36 kit fronts/rears pads and slotted rotors from 4Wheelparts.com.......25% off and free shipping.......Stopping power is awesome.
My rig has no issues stopping the boat now........
