Anybody mounted a carrier in their 2017 yet? I had a holster mounted in my old Chevy center console which worked great. Thought I would see if any other creations out there before I go adding a couple small holes to my new console.
i've got the same model 64 smith in my glove box that i've had for years, an lcp in my pocket and i'm thinking about putting one of those cheap shields in the console
that said, my buddy's '16 has a great little slot under the steering wheel for a pocket pistol that's absent on the '17
Ah, yes. Springfield Armory. Great choice! Looks like an XDm Compact.
I prefer to wear mine, unless I'm in one of the Kommunist states and have to use deep concealment.
I use the go magnet. I mounted it on the center console by my right leg as far forward as I could go. Its well within reach if I need it. And the plate has the 2nd amendment on it so it looks good mounted in the truck. It's small and compact cheap and works flawlessly. It holds a loaded 1911 even with no problem.
Crossbreed has some good options, maybe check them out. They've done me well over the years. I've used their modular systems in 4 of my trucks for pistol storage. I have 5 edc pistols that I can rotate in as desired, it all works. I'm a lefty so I don't store things like this in the center console that often, but you certainly could. That velcro that they use, and the holster that comes with it, or buy extras for your different handguns is a really good match for me. I use the same system in the house. I prefer options that let me easily move handgun A from the truck, to the nightstand without me ever having to unholster it (unless I want to for some reason).
I have a couple Crossbreed's as well which actually fit both my XD and my Shield. Great holsters. If I end up going with the console mount again I will probably repurpose one of them.
I'm really struggling with this as I have the fold down center seat instead of a console. I keep looking at it and drawing blanks (pun not intended!) on what to do.

Well I see your problem... you have an XD where a real gun should be
Sorry low hanging fruit. Don't mind me I'm an HK fanboy.
Here is the Go magnet I mentioned a few posts up. It's very simple and compact. I also have a plate mounted on my nightstand and it just sticks to the side. For the price and it's performance it's the best I have used.
I have the split bench seat with the center seat back which folds up. The bottom seat raises up and has storage under it which works great for my pistol etc. It also locks so that is also a bug plus.

I used to have this setup...but I always felt like it would take way too long to access a pistol from under the bottom seat cushion. I typically always had the top seat folded down to form the console, so that would have to be lifted, then the seat base lifted...time, time. Better than nothing, I suppose.

Same thought here. Need much quicker access.
The bottom portion of the seat locks? Didn't know that!
