Kinda depends on what is shipping and the distance. Springs and seats have slightly different cube rates.

Hey Kurt,
Welcome Aboard! Nice to see a '49 getting saved. Post some pics when you get a chance so we can see what you have to work with...

The '48-'50 cabs are kind of narrow - 52 inches wide. Any of the small
pickup truck seats will fit in there S10, Dakota, Ranger, etc.. We found a nicely redone S10 seat for our '50... fit's great. It's 48 inches
wide ...leaving us room for the seatbelt rolls on the side. You do have to build a platform for most any seat you use... it's best to sit in it
at varying heights to see what's comfortable.

Our Bed was pretty shot as well. We used Midwest Early Ford for all of our body panels. They are very good to work with.

If you need cab corners or other body repair pieces ....there is a User on here named Reamer who makes them. His fit & require much less
massaging..

Good luck over there. Don't forget to post some pics.

Welcome to the site and like the guys are saying you have come to the best place for these old trucks. For your question #2, re: hand brake spring. It is exactly the same as or close to a clothes pin spring, believe it or not.
