Introduction

I posted a question friday and then realized i have not properly introduced myself. I purchased a 1951 f1 two weeks ago and while doing research i found this site. I live in north-east Texas and work as a mechanic at a coal mine (Really!!). This is my first big project ,so, i will need lots of advise and info. After lurking here for the last week, i think I've found the perfect place for both. Thanks in advance for all the info and help. coleminer

Welcome to the site Coleminer. Been tru north east Texas a few times didn't know there were coal mines in that area. Just out of curiosity what town or city are the coal mines located.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking foreword to this project and all the information (and BS) I can get here. Texas has lots of coal. Lignite coal. We surface mine the coal and it is used to fire boilers for steam to turn turbine generators to manufacture electricity for a large portion of east Texas. Our mining operations are located around the cities of Marshall, Longview, Carthage, Henderson, Mt.Pleasant, Fairfield, and new areas opening soon north-east of Austin/Waco. Sorry for the long explanation. Oh,...and 4tl8ford, we do have alot of cow pies, but they don't burn as well as the coal, so we don't mine (or harvest ?) them. Pictures and specs coming soon.

Welcome. By the way, if you Texans aren't careful, they'll cut Alaska in half and make Texas the third largest state in the union!!

P.S. I have kids and grandkids in the Liberty City and Gilmer area.
