With a bunch of info from this forum, I've been shopping around and it looks like I'll be getting a new truck to replace my 2000 F350 CC DRW.
I originally started talking to an out of state dealer because of family connections and got a quote for an ordered rig. I was using the local dealer to look at the trucks (gotta touch and feel them) and noticed they seemed to have some better pricing or rebates. I gave them a shot and the local dealer did me $1000 better. A little more below invoice and some other magic auto dealer math. It was interesting to look at his rebate screen and run through it to see what could be applied. He mentioned the brochure coupon and said to get one coming to the house (did that a couple of days ago). If there isn't a coupon in it, order another one in June.
I had built my truck on the ford site and brought a print out with me. Took 10min to punch in the info and maybe 20min more to discuss pricing. Maybe because it didn't take 2 or 3 hours going over every option I got a little better discount? Also they didn't require anything down which surprised me.
I need to go to another dealer this weekend to look at the color I think I want since I have not seen it is person. Same with interior as I haven't seen Camel yet. Order should be placed Monday if it goes OK he'll hit send on an F350 XLT 6.2L CC LB 4x4 in Bronze Fire.
I prefer the camel interior over gray or black. It was a real decision for me between White Gold and Bronze Fire. White Gold finally won out, but it was close!
I like my camel interior also. What surprised me was that the carpet was black. I ordered WeatherTech floor mats to match camel color before the truck arrived. The floor mats don't look bad, as long as you don't look too carefully at the carpet color.
All of the my rigs have had gray or charcoal interiors and I'm ready for a change. I really like the Camel at least from photo's I've seen. Going to look at the color combo today. The black carpet isn't something I like but I deleted the carpet so will just have vinyl floors.
CCLB - big truck, be ready to park in the back of the lot!
HAHA! I drive a CCLB Dually now so I'm already used to that. At least now I can just buy 4 tires and worry if my butt looks fat.
Looked at one today and while the future Mrs. isn't crazy about the camel, I liked it so it's a done deal and I'll tell my guy to make it so!
I had to laugh a little at the dealership I stopped at. I was up front about wanting to look at the color and that I was already dealing with a different dealership. They tried to poach the sale and almost tried too hard. I don't know what's it like in other areas but around here you cannot find any 6.2L with the 4.30 on a lot. There are none. I tell them that is a must and they don't have it so don't sell me something else. sheesh....
